Esoteric, mournful, and steeped in ancient malice, ORTOLAN manifests as a black metal invocation an aural grimoire forged in smoke, blood memory, and chanted nocturnes. Each track is a ritual gate, each tremor of distortion a sigil burning in the dark. The shrieks that coil through the air are evocations that are echoes of forgotten liturgies once whispered by hermetic orders who vanished beneath their own conjured shadows.
Its origins from a ruined codex, ORTOLAN is an entity summoned not through words but through sound: rhythms matching the pulse of the dying stars, melodies etched in dissonant intervals believed to tear open the subtle veil. To perform its music is to replicate the rite; to listen is to stand within the circle, salt hissing beneath your feet as the unseen turns its gaze toward you.
The entity descends like an unbroken night, draping an oppressive pall over all who invoke its name. Its despairing hooks sink deep, fastening to the astral sinews of the listener, and no banishing once miscast can pry them free. When its cursed canticles rise, you sense an ancient procession moving just beyond sight, and you lift your eyes to the starless vault in dread reverence knowing you are already half claimed, already drifting along the sulphurous winds where hearts wither and rot.
